In the center of Niörd Seafari, surrounded by a peaceful garden, you can find the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good meal. Welcome to Niörd’s Sea Horse Diner.

Between the large Redwood trees you can catch a first glimpse of what looks like a traditional Scandinavian restaurant. But appearances can be deceptive. After a short walk through a lovely flower garden we stand in front of a modern, yet traditional looking restaurant. Huge glass windows offer a beautiful view over a small pond. Tropical plants flourish up the interior and divide the restaurant in different sections, each with its own look and characteristics. And if the weather permits it, you can find yourself a seat on the large elevated terrace, again with an astonishing view over the garden.

But since this is a restaurant inside a marine park, we wouldn’t dare to let you forget about that. One large cylindrical aquarium dominates the center of the dining area. A miniature kelp forest gives a home to one of those typical sea creatures everyone knows: Seahorses (Hippocampus kuda). A second, even bigger aquarium is placed alongside one of the sidewalls. Here you can find two of the most extraordinary creatures of the sea; cousins of the common seahorse; the Weedy Sea Dragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) and the Leafy Sea Dragon (Phycodurus eques).

In short, this restaurant lives up to its name. A dining experience to never forget.
